Monday, December 28th, 2009
To lose weight, dieting is pretty much essential. When people cut carbs from their diet they will see a drastic drop in weight. This is because when there is a reduction in carbohydrates the body use the carbs eaten as energy rather than storing them and converting them to fat.
Carbohydrates make up a large portion of the calories that we eat in our diet. Foods like potatoes, rice, bread and even some fruits and vegetables have carbs. When you limit the amount of foods that have carbs you will inadvertently lose weight. That said, not all bodies need the same amount of total calories each day. Every has their own personal set of dietary needs that keeps them nourished and healthy. if you cut calories too drastically it will lead you tired and it can even affect metabolic function.
The optimal diet would have blend of both low carbs with plenty of fibers and proteins. If you take a month to adhere to this regimen you will surely see an improvement in cholesterol and that will reduce your risk of heart disease. That said, if the low carb diet you follow is to heavily dependent on meat proteins it will have the opposite effect.
Following a diet with high fiber and protein rich foods can help improve insulin levels and blood fats when it is done correctly. This is because a low carb diet helps reduce the level of apoliopoprotiens, this is the protein that binds fat in the blood.
